The movie of the fall! Yes, the movie everyone will be dragging their families to, right?

Hah. I’m not going to trash on the bad acting or terrible writing of this movie. Nay, not the over-simplified plot nor the fact that Kirk Cameron had to bring in his own wife to do a “kiss” scene. I’m gonna hate on this movie because of the simple fact that it symbolizes this “marriage isn’t ‘holy’” anymore attitude from the “ridiculous” right.

What’s the reality of the divorce rate in 21st century America? The reality is that women no longer fear leaving wife-beaters, and people have a general lifting of the social stigma of divorce under intolerable circumstances. You religious people are the reason they get married so young to people they don’t love anyway (refer to “no sex before marriage” myth in contemporary christian theology). So please save the lessons in “moral marriages” for the small screens of your congregations.

P.S. Only slightly more awesome is this clip of Kirk Cameron trying to “convert” some gang members. Click! (I also find it hilarious that he has a latino accent when speaking to them. What an actor.)
