Veer the Movie - Radical?

I recently got word of this movie and has since been growing more excited for it’s release. Now everybody KNOWs I’m a bike nerd, but most don’t know that I’m also a documentary nerd as well. For instance, I recently joyed in seeing the Hulu.com premiere of Crawford (documentary on the “hometown” of Geroge W.).

So, I peeped the trailer for this movie at http://www.veerthemovie.com/trailer.asp, thanks to Gabriel Amadeus. For those of you who are too lazy to navigate around the movie’s sparsely content filled site, here’s the word straight from them:

Veer explores America’s fast-growing bicycling culture by profiling five people whose lives are inextricably tied to bicycling and the bike-centric social groups they belong to. The film follows these characters over the course of a year, offering a behind-the-scenes look at their personal struggles and triumphs. Veer examines what it means to be part of a community, and how social movements are formed. (From Veerthemovie.com)

Although the somewhat vague “About Veer” page doesn’t outline the real stories, the trailer gives you a great peek. And from that peek, I have sparked an interest in the movie. If you notice, a large part of it takes place in Portland, OR as well. I’m unsure if all of it takes place here, as I did not recognize some of the stories, but the pieces with the Sprockettes, Zoobombers, Chain Reaction, and tall bikes were most obviously Portland.

Well wishes to the directors, producers, and contributors on their upcoming release.

Here’s the info if you’re in town for it:
