Making Wine II: Bottling Buddies
Categories: Creative, DIY, Friends, Wine

makingwine01At the end of last October (2008), I blogged about the begginings of some home-brew wine. Christina’s father gave her a row from the vineyard to try her hand at some wine making. Pinot Noir to be specific. Christina (sort of) followed the guidelines she read online and got from the local winemaker supply store: crush, must, ferment, clarify. The wine was due for bottling, and so we saw it through this weekend.

With bottler on hand, bottling bucket ready, and siphon in mouth we pulled it through and bottled over two cases. One carboy, the main one we bottled, was pretty decent. After some sitting time, it will probably develop a really nice flavor.

Right now I’m helping her with the label. While I though “Pinot for Poseurs” was pretty fit, she’s leaning more to “Sticky Pinot Pony.”

Go figure.
