ThreatToCreativity v2.3 has just had the finishing touches put on it. It is now submitted to the Wordpress Theme Directory and awaiting approval. It will be available here: ThreatToCreativity @ Wordpress.org
Version 2.3 contains the following changes:
- IE bug fixes (Some alignment issues)
- Pages CSS fixes (stupid me!)
- Some other style enhancements and modifications for the big v3.0 upgrade! Coming soon…
If you use this theme, please download the new one as it will work MUCH better in IE.

Hi Max: I wld love to make a donation but wld first need you to help me to iron out the kinks in your design:
1) why is it when I upload a pix, the synop box on the home page shows a thumb-size of the pix with a X beside it, suggesting there’s an error. On yr own site, the pix in the synop box looks fine. Did I do something wrong? if so, what’s the remedy, pse?
2) why do you have the edit command/button for pages and not for posts, unlike other designs? Because of this, I find myself having to click the admin button to return to dashboard, then click on edit posts and then select the post I wish to edit. If there’s an instant “edit” button with each post, it wld save much clicking and reduce stress on my mouse
3) how can I change the favicon to my xingrencha favicon, pse? I tried to replace the default with my own under themes, but the original, despite having been deleted, remains absolutely sticky!

Sorry I did not respond to your other comments. I have been working on this new release.
Here are answers to your questons.
1) This was a coding error that has been fixed with the new update. Once the new update is approved from Wordpress.org, you will be able to download it. It is not approved yet, but should be within 2-3 days.
2) Thank you for telling me this. I have actually made this version 2.3 and fixed this “edit” button problem. When the new version is available for download, it should include the”Edit This” on all pages and posts.
3) Internet Browsers actually cache favicons for a VERY long time. The best idea is to upload your favicon with a different name and then change the link to the favicon in header.php. The line to modify is found at line 5 and looks like this:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" />, where “favicon.ico” should be changed to the name of your new favicon.Also, since you are so excited about my theme, I will make it available for download until it is approved on Wordpress.org. You can see the download link in the edited post above.

Well, I am about as newbie as they get but I love your template. Very cool! I’m not sure why my photos come out so weird on my home page. They’re tiny and not centered.
I also want to add some widgets and scripts and don’t know what you might recommend or if you have known issues with some. My original blog is at blogger and I’ve just moved it over. That one is titled gowowteam.com. I need to get a few more pieces up on WP and will then transfer the name. Right now, I’m not sure how to do that for SEO, etc.

I’m hugely indebted to you and will write you a private message after Oct 1, after I’ve enough pieces in Xingrencha to launch the site to mark 60 years of Modern China, as a tribute to the home of my ancestors!
In the interim, let me share with you how I fared with yr instructions, in the hope of helping others similarly troubled:
1) favicon was truly sticky and despite following yr advice faithfully, the XXX thingie refused to budge. I prayed and got the inspiration of changing the theme. Guess what? When I reverted to threat2creativity, the new favi came on. it’s a pix of the old Xiangyang mkt in Shanghai!
2) Altho I downloaded yr Version 2.3 to my comp, I just cldn’t get it up to my website, which is currently using yr V3.3. So I kept encountering the trouble with the thumbnail illustration on the homepage. The strange thing was when I viewed the design on firefox, there was no error X. Also, your design/theme looked more stunning in color n vibrancy when viewed with Firefox!
3) Still, I wanted to view xrc on IE so I persisted. Then I hit upon substituting the function.php file that was causing the trouble with the same file taken fm V 2.3. Voila! It worked beautifully.
4) Now, if you could tell me which of the php files from V2.3 holds the command showing the “edit” command on post (while logged in), I wld be over the moon.

Hi Max: Am back again.
I have solved problem highlighted in my 4th point. So, now there’s an “edit” command with the post when logged in.
However, a new problem has surfaced. Under page, the sidebar instead of aligning with the page, starts from where the page ends. Any suggestion on how to solve this please??

Love your THEME !
I have edited and nosed around and made some changes ( like a scrolling menu) but I CANNOT figure out why the edits of the sidebar.php will not take effect. http://www.edparton.com/blog
I can add things to the sidebar.php (like the little “boo” at the top of the sidebar side, or the “…..” holder in the header. I can edit widgets inside the control console and effect changes there, which when FTP’d to the server take effect almost immediately.
I have even used the WordPress admin console to make changes inside WordPress to edit the CSS and PHP files and they don’t take effect either??
BUT, I want to shorten the “wordpress.org” i.e. line to just “WP” or maybe a small graphic. I can’t get anything to update. Why is just this area of the sidebar.php script not accepting edits??
Any help or hints would be GREATLY appreciated. You are like me, a lot of the things I do on computers and webpages is a labor of love.
Don’t get much credit, but I still love doing it.

is there a way to change the font colors in the side bar. when I added my rss feed widget the title is in black not white like the other sidebar titles and it blends into the dark colors when it randomizes and is invisible.

I have more than a few sites, actually. Big photographer. Have not, yet, found, the template I want. I have downloaded your newest ThreatToCreativity. How do you get thumbs to show in the squares (in every square) on the HomePage? Is it a Custom Field? Some photo’s show up but most don’t. And, what did you do on your maxisnow homepage with the Photo link? I like.
I have been playing withe WordPress theme Vina 1.3.1 by Nurudin Jauhari, among others.

Took a while to work out some of the quirks, but I added a scrolling menu (no reason) and finally figured out how to edit the META data to my liking. Seems you have to use a PLUGIN called Executable PHP widget and your theme has to be widget capable.
Same thing for having little photos on your posts in the HOME window. Decided not to do the photos because I wanted a cleaner look… I guess.

If anyone can help, I am struggling with a couple of things:
1. Having trouble getting small photos to show up on posts on the index. Sometimes they will, mostly they won’t. Is it a size issue and if so can you give some guidelines.
2. If pictures do show up often cropped badly.
3. Also, related to that I am using a Flickr Photo Album to post content to the site and I can NEVER get an Flickr pictures to show up on posts on index. Frustrating, as I do want pictures on most posts. Any ideas? Or anyone using another Flickr plugin that works for this on this theme?
4.I noticed on you site that you only have two posts across the index, instead of three. I think this would work better for me as I use a lot of pictures and they seem problematic on smaller post blocks. What do I need to do to edit the template to make this change?

In answer to Patty Lundeen: to have the two columns (instead of the three columns of 2.3) you wld need to download threat2creativity 3.3. Or somehow extract the style sheet and paste it to yr 2.3 version…
But that cld cause other problems… if u read my earlier post, u wld see tt in the end I opted for 2.3…

Hi Max, I updated the theme but since then my sidebar ’slided’ to the end of the page and I can’t put it back at the side of the rest of the posts. Then, every ‘, ” and every stressed letter appear as a ? (I mean è, ò, à, ù, ì very frequent in Italian).
Could you suggest me a way to fix these problems? Thank you in advance.

Excuse me Max, but I noticed that I can’t update the site anymore. It doesn’t publish any change in the sidebar and neither the new posts!

Dear Max,
I understood what I did, even if now I don’t know how to solve the problem. Yesterday I had to insert a TradeDoubler verification code in the site, but I had to insert it between the tags . So I copied the source code of the page in html from my Safari browser, I downloaded the index.php page and opened it.
I put the verification code between the tags , saved and uploaded again and finally I verificated the site on Tradedoubler. Then I turned off the mac and went away. This morning, after the updating I noticed that the HP of my site was blocked.
The worst thing (I know I’m a stupid!) is that I didn’t save the original index.php to replace the one I used for the verification code.
Now all the site works on the dashboard, from there I publish and make every changing, but nothing arrives to my home page. It’s like an image: it doesn’t work at all, you can’t read the post, you can’t do anything.
How can I recover the original index.php?
I’ve tried to unistall and install again the theme, but nothing. It seems that nothing could work!
Pls, could someone help me? What can I do? The site is: http://www.paconline.it.

Dear Max, don’t care about my last posts. I thought all night long and at last I tried twice or three times and I found a solution directly in the wp index.php code. Now everything works!

heya , i love the theme and have been wit you for a few version upgrades.
Previously i was using thumbnails for excrts to display thumbnails on the home page, but with an update it seems it displays a thumbnail also at the top of every other page as well throwing all formatting off
what are you using to display photos/thumbnails in your excerpts as noticed it dosent create the extra ones on all of your other pages.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Max. just upgraded. MY site was 4 prior. It was 4 across for a bit. NOw it’s 3 across. and reverted to old photos that I have revised but don’t seem to want to display as revised.

Can you please send me the old CSS code. I don’t like this new release. I can see why people wanted it but I don’t like it and was too dumb to save the old code. I want my fluid back and my thumbnails for excerpts and those options too.You colors and boxes are still beautiful–sorry to be a pain..

I notice this when I view the site in Internet Explorer on a screen with a lower resolution. Interestingly, the issue is not a problem when I view the home page, only when I click on a single link.
