Cross Crusade #7 – PIR!

christina_mud2Sunday’s Cross Crusade race was super duper awesome-o!It was also Christina’s first cyclocross race ever (picture to the right after the race). A rad time was had by all. I could barely ride after the past two weeks of on-and-off sickness. I thought I placed horribly, but actually did the same as two weeks ago. Hooray?

The PIR course was especially tough compared to some of the earlier courses. It was 2.5 miles, more than twice as long as other ‘cross courses, had two sets of barriers and two run-ups. This didn’t include the 1-3 other off-camber sections that many people had to dismount for. All of that, together with fast, flat sections made for non-stop riding with little recovery.

All-in-all, though, it was pretty great and a lot of fun.

Christina and I both snapped some photos you can check below.
We didn’t get any shots of the SSCXWC09, but there’s a great write-up at Cyclocrossbuild.com: SSCXWC Rocks Through Thunderdome, On To Seattle

Wish I had coughed up the $40 to race the SSCXWC just so I could say I went through the “stripper bus”. Next year in Seattle….next year.
