You are now setting your eyes upon the glorious World Champions of the “Lap-dog” category of the DDXCWC09 (Doggie Day Cyclocross World Champions 2009). Be afraid, be very afraid.
In the midst of this weekend’s Kruger’s Crossing cyclocross race, was this special doggie event. Although many dog’s entered, only few walked away with the golden collar and the heavy purse of premium food.
Due to some heavy training, weight control, and real heart, Hamburger (aka Jasmine, but I call her Hamburger) and I vaulted to victory. It was a rough battle and the months of lactate threshold training finally paid off. Carried like a football, Hamburger glided across the finish line…and she won’t stop there. Hamburger, in her podium statement, expressed a specific interest in pursuing the Cat A championship next year, competing with dog 10 time her size. The Cat A leaders from the race showed little interest in Hamburger’s statement, one of whom simply took a shit when asked for a response. The owner later remarked that he would pickup said shit at another time.
All hail the Lap-dog World Champs….and tremble in fear!
