20544_667446125697_24614213_38920672_3867862_nI have been so busy the past month. I’ve gone from regular days to frigid winter riding, delivering Christmas trees by bike, appearing on TV and radio, moving in with Christina, right into Christmas shopping and Christmas proper. Had a “relaxing” break from Portland spent jumping around the Salem area with Christina and her family. It was great, and very gracious of them to include me, but it also made me miss my folks even more. Came home to having to help Christina find a new car as her’s was totaled in our fender-bender on Christmas Eve. Got the new car New Years eve, moved the last of my things into her place, and basically had 30 minutes to unwind and drink champagne before the ball dropped. It’s been crazy. Full of every kind of business. We spent just this whole weekend trying to integrate our stuff into one home. It’s been rough, but promising…and not easy. How can two people require so much stuff and space? I guess we’re just both “doers”….which means we’ve always got some scheme being baked. Right now the garage is half sewing room, half bicycle repair and storage, half wine making and beer making facility. ..yea three halves, exactly. Our “spare room” is a guest room, office, guitar storage, off-season clothes storage, and soon Yoga studio. Word to the wise, be our guest. You can hop on the computer, practice “Stairway”, and perfect your Down-facing dog, or catch a few winks without leaving the room. (I’m talking to you Californian friends, you jerks haven’t been here in at least a year)

IMG_3223Moving and general busy stuff aside, life has been great. Finances are getting under control and prepared for our trip in March. Christina is sporting her new Scion xD (which is super rad). I’m getting all my bikes squared away and trying to get onto a fitness program to trim myself down a bit. I figure it’s been long enough, I’m tired of being 275lbs. Let’s try something in the 225lbs range. I wouldn’t call it a resolution though, I really am just tired of being heavy. So, something to work at that’s on the inside. While on the outside, I’ve got a couple eggs in my incubator…hopefully they will be hatching soon. TreesByBike was a huge success for me, and a sign that I really do have good ideas and can accomplish something worth it’s effort. “Hoo-rah” to that.

Basically everything is pretty great. Let’s hear it for biding my time and planning. Thanks 2009, you really taught me about planting the right seeds and bearing the best fruit. You also showed me how lucky I am to have quality people in my life both near and far…Especially the beautiful, curly-haired girl with a great attitude and a lot of tolerance for my bullshit.
