Max is NOW!
Art, DIY, cycling, wine, philosophy. lifestream.

Last night at Portland Bicycle Studio, Lazer helmets and Ridley bikes really brought the “bling” with some of their coolest gear I’ve seen. It was a fun night of fast bikes, flashy helmets, fun dudes, and foreign refreshments (effing , oh yea).  I was expecting a good time of meeting the reps from each company [...]

Another bike my girlfriend used, but just doesn’t ride anymore. We’re making room for our other bike. This is a small frame, probably 46-48cm, made for a 5′-5′5″ rider. It’s in pretty great condition and would be perfect for city commuting or bar-hopping.
Specs

Cr-Mo Steel frame
26″ Wheels
Installed fenders
Canti-lever brakes
3 x 6 drivetrain (18 speed)
Shimano SIS [...]

The previous sale posting for this bike (51cm Bianchi Pista For Sale) attracted some attention, but other things kept me from responding promptly. I also decided to take a slightly less snarky approach to selling it.
This Bianchi Pista has been around the block, but it’s nowhere near the end of it’s life. It has seen [...]

Good things happening in my life right now:
1) Christina Collada
2) Tuna Fish and Cheeto sandwhich
3) Invite to an “easy” road ride with CX all-stars from Molly (yea it’s an open invite, but still)
4) TreesByBike.com dream coming true and being covered by local media (even if we’re not making squat)
5) MollyCameron.com launching
6) Christmas tree smell

You are now setting your eyes upon the glorious World Champions of the “Lap-dog” category of the DDXCWC09 (Doggie Day Cyclocross World Champions 2009). Be afraid, be very afraid.
In the midst of this weekend’s Kruger’s Crossing cyclocross race, was this special doggie event. Although many dog’s entered, only few walked away with the golden collar [...]

With the release of the Apple Magic Mouse, finger use is making a serious comeback! People around the country are finding all new uses for the “Two-finger swipe”. For those of you who haven’t been making it past Second base ( I’ve been hitting 1000 for the past year), the new Apple Magic Mouse will [...]

I’m ALL OVER this video. Mainly because I was there early in the morning for my race.
I get the honor of being introduced with “fat guys” on my local news hooray. However, I did get my other good quote there in the end and some nice footage of me walking uphill (when I [...]

Have you ever woke up at 6:45am on a Sunday, rolled out of bed giggling like a schoolgirl, so excited for the day ahead that you almsot pee your boxer briefs?
I have. And I’ll do it for at least 5 more Sundays this season.
Cyclocros is an incredible sport, and Oregon’s Cross Crusade is possibly one [...]

Lizard men work in my office.
How do I know? Well I’ve never seen them here. However the office bathroom regularly smells like a mixture of sulfuric acid and hippo sex. Yea it’s gross, vomit-inducing, and empircal proof that lizard men work in my office. This explains so much as well. Everything from the stolen refrigerator [...]

These are not my bicycles, however the bikes and equipment of some really cool dudes who put on a great alleycat, Rose City Fix, this weekend in Portland (Check out the Results). After slaving over the planning and staffing on this alleycat with incredible prizing, the guys had their Uhaul broken into and robbed. Hopefully [...]

Hey dudes, I’ve got something to show you.
It’s hot, sexy, costs about $30, and it goes on your chest. Yea, dude, you know you want it. Mmmmm.
WHAT?! No, it’s a T-shirt you dirty jerks. It’s a T-shirt that will change your life. Forever. And ever.
Many, many moons ago when the world wasn’t plagued with economic [...]

My 28th birthday this last Sunday roughly marked my 12th year as a smoker.
I grew up in a house of smokers, took up the habit fully at age 16, and have never really regretted it. Yea, sounds weird right? I was never a self-hating smoker. I enjoyed smoking, actually. I think I got more stimulation [...]

Dear Mom & Dad,
Thank you for what you have made of me. I carry Dad’s sense of humor everywhere I go and I weigh with his somber reflection when the moments arise. When not suffering Dad’s gastric-intestinal disorders, I am echoing his quips about boobs. Mom, I invoke your compassion when others need me and [...]

Two awesome dudes looking for a place to lay their heads….and do some gardening.
That’s right, Dan and I are looking at houses in the Portland Metro area. We’ve come across one beauty just south of Powell, but are still unsure if it will pan out.
So if you have a hosue for rent, know of [...]

Merry Christmas everybody!
EAT DRINK AND BE VERY FUCKING MERRY!!!!!!!!
Enjoy.

RIDE THE WHITE!!!
Get out and ride your bikes you effing nerds. Snow is nothing to fear, you sissies. So get off the couch and get in that Christmas ride.
See you on the snow.

This most recent storm though Portland is weather I’ve never seen. When it’s not snowing, it’s sleeting or raining freezing water. Yea, freezing rain. The stuff that sticks on impact.
It’s been pretty crazy and we have to stay indoors a lot….however we got out for a bit.
Enjoy.

The answer to all of the world’s problems was released last Friday, 12/12/2008.
Okay, okay, maybe not ALL the world’s problems….but definitely a lot of problems I encounter on a daily basis. As a Wordpress Expert (I recently dubbed myself this after clocking my third year developing on WP sites), I run into the occasional [...]

Christmas has this tendency to be rather self-absorbed. Not necessarily each of us within ourselves, but the country as a whole being self-absorbed. We think about spreading joy and sharing love, but normally that notion ends at our doorstep or our neighborhood, or maybe even as far as the city limits. It’s sweet, really, [...]

It’s Christmas time. And while the children around America will be unsatifed with their presents which cost more than the yearly diet of most kids worldwide, I will be waking to my newest present to myself. Yes, I bought myself a used Nikon D70. And boy, I’m more excited than a 12 year-old boy [...]

It’s snow!!! I was the biggest skeptic. I swore up and down that the snow wouldn’t stick today. I woke up around 7:30am this morning to drain some fluid. Nothing on the ground. I was totally right. Went back to sleep until 9:30am. Woke up, looked outside…and well….Fuck, I was wrong.
It’s beautiful outside. Icey and [...]

It’s been a hell of a week. I’m fighting off a bitch of a cold and falling behind with work. Ah, I’ll just give it time. It’s getting damn cold here. More inside time.
If you’re looking for some blog fixed I recommend Christina’s blog or Abe’s blog. Both good to read.
Enjoy the weekend. Update [...]

Yea yea, every body knows I love riding my bike everywhere. Old news…. So what? I still love blogging about it.
So I picked up a 5′er at the L’Arche Nehalem Fundraiser tree lot the other day. It’s a beautiful little tree that is supporting a beautiful cause. I suggest you buy a tree at [...]

I recently picked up a G1 phone this last week. This Google powered phone, running on Android, has had some ups and downs in the pasts week. I’m still undecided about it. The features that work well are frankly amazing and things I’ve been waiting for in technology for years. However, there are some fundamental [...]

God what a wonderful weekend. I didn’t want it to end. But now, sitting at work, I know it has. Wine, food, kites, ice cream, the beach, Christina….it was perfect.
But I won’t soil it with analysis. Photo gallery to come.

I’m gone to the Oregon coast all weekend with Christina. So you probably won’t be hearing a peep out of me. I don’t think I’ve EVER had an actual vacation like this weekend. And it is well-deserved. We have a place on the sand. It’s beautiful. But don’t worry, dear readers, I will return with [...]

Link: Thanksgiving on the Vines (gallery)
Once again I had the pleasure of staying at Cubanisimo Vineyards this last weekend. It was the Thanksgiving Weekend Celebration for the vineyard, hosting music, food, and wine in the tasting room through Sunday. I, of course, was disposed in the tasting room, helping the traveling tasters have an [...]

The 2nd Blue Beanie day is upon us. For those super-nerds, you know exactly what this day is. For the rest of you, here’s the skinny:
Friday, November 28, 2008 is the day thousands of Standardistas (people who support web standards) will wear a Blue Beanie to show their support for accessible, semantic web content.
It’s [...]

I love “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” I love it a lot. Some may say I love it more than I should. And as one who doesn’t watch much TV, loving a TV show is a big thing for me. I just wanted to highlight some of my favorite It’s Always Sunny moment. Some are [...]

Those familiar with the performance cycling world, have probably heard stories about the Spinergy Rev-X wheels. Basically they could explode. While I’m not absolutley positive if this was just an engineering or production mistake, it happened. More than once.
Well, introducing a potentially new exploding wheel! The HPlusSons rims have been egenrataing HUGE internet interest, [...]

The most incredible widget cloud of aggregated data has risen out of an unlikely place. Sprint’s “Now” widget cloud, hosts more than 40 separate widgets that do everything from pong to population growth to current videos being watched online. While all widgets in this cloud feel active, only about 15 are aggregating live [...]

The only thing worse than bad musicians is bad musicians singing songs about web technology.
Here they is, please enjoy:

Wordpress Theme Song
Drupal Theme Song (*My favorite of the songs, however least of the web technologies*)
Gmail Theme Song (For some reason set in Second Life…do they have the internet in internet games?)
Google Theme Song
Ebay Theme Song (Apparently [...]

A lot of people talk about the dreary Autumns and Winters of Portland. For some reason I’ve never seen them as all that dreary. Between the rain and grey gloom, we have these beautiful days. Days that make you forget the grey and the gloom and the soggy days. Days like today. A wonderful day. [...]
