Max is NOW!
Art, DIY, cycling, wine, philosophy. lifestream.

With the release of the Apple Magic Mouse, finger use is making a serious comeback! People around the country are finding all new uses for the “Two-finger swipe”. For those of you who haven’t been making it past Second base ( I’ve been hitting 1000 for the past year), the new Apple Magic Mouse will [...]

ThreatToCreativity v2.3 has just had the finishing touches put on it. It is now submitted to the Wordpress Theme Directory and awaiting approval. It will be available here: ThreatToCreativity @ Wordpress.org
Version 2.3 contains the following changes:

IE bug fixes (Some alignment issues)
Pages CSS fixes (stupid me!)
Some other style enhancements and modifications for the big v3.0 upgrade! [...]

Meet Larisa.
Larisa is unemployed. Larisa is also a college graduate with a Business degree. Undoubtedly, like me, Larisa has student loans or some sort of credit accumulated during the acquisition of said degree. Now Larisa faces the torture of Craigslist scouring, corporate ass-kissery, business card palm greasing, Taco Bell , and daytime TV. Yea, she’s [...]

So, I hate FEDEX.
Yea. Yep. Pretty much. Seriously.
Despite the fact that I rarely send packages throughout the domestic US and even less frequently to the rest of the world, I can say FEDEX sucks.
“But Why Max? Why are they the shit-nuggets you say?!” You may ask.
Well, I’ll tell you. They have crossed me, now more [...]

That’s right, there’s a new key on my keyring. “Where does it open?” you may ask. The new home of Dan and myself.
That’s right folks, we got the house. Stay tuned for spring firepit parties, summer tiki bar, and some fun on our nice big flat of grass out back.
YAY!

Christmas has this tendency to be rather self-absorbed. Not necessarily each of us within ourselves, but the country as a whole being self-absorbed. We think about spreading joy and sharing love, but normally that notion ends at our doorstep or our neighborhood, or maybe even as far as the city limits. It’s sweet, really, [...]

The most incredible widget cloud of aggregated data has risen out of an unlikely place. Sprint’s “Now” widget cloud, hosts more than 40 separate widgets that do everything from pong to population growth to current videos being watched online. While all widgets in this cloud feel active, only about 15 are aggregating live [...]

Oh Google, you’ve done it again. Gmail release “Themes” yesterday, much mimicking it’s search counter-part iGoogle. I didn’t even notice it last night, but this morning received a nice little notification at the top of my Gmail.
The Themes are all really awesome, and it’s a refreshing change [...]

Google has, arguably, created some of the best pieces of cloud technology in the past five to ten years. And I’m pretty sure their reign of free, powerful tech is far from over. Especially considering the recent release of Google.org’s Flu Trends.
While I’m no self-acknowledging nerd, I have been called on many occasions by [...]

Just kidding.
However the November 5th, 2008 issue, entitled “Obama”,  is selling for a stupid price on Ebay.
Check it: “New York Times Obama” Search on Ebay

In the words of Jon Stewart – “At 11 o’clock Eastern, Barack Obama is president.”
Yay.
We’re gonna be telling our kids about this day. This is the day a man walked across America and broke down the history of hate and fear. This is the day we will remember with joy when we call ourselves Americans. [...]

Rewind to November, 2000. A huge upset in voting recounts is happening. All news network polls, third-party polls, just about every poll in existence for the Presidential election between W. Bush and Al Gore is proving to be terribly inconsistent. All the polls compared against each other are proving to have such widely varying [...]

I hear a lot of complaints about Salem,  Or. Of course, I didn’t grow up there or have to spend much time in the city itself. When I’m there it’s normally for a reason. Working at Cubanisimo Vineyards has been the main one. But this time, while still being at the vineyard, it was [...]

Link: Joe McCain Call 911 for “bad” traffic (watch the vid, hilarious.)

In the true spirit of Chris Farley (see Black Sheep), Joe McCain has further shamed the McCain campaign. I love when people on the fridnges of the lime light make complete assholes of themselves. It makes me feel like my life ain’t so rough.
God. [...]

You don’t make more than $250K, you’re not a licensed plumber….shit you actually owe $1,200 in back taxes.
“I’m completely flabbergasted with this whole thing and just hope I’m not making too much of a fool of myself and hope I can get my message out there,” – Joe the Plumber
Well Joe, showing that you lack [...]

Did anyone else notice on CNN, during the 2nd Presidential Debate pregame bologna, the vast amount of laptops in front of everyone. No joke, there were about 10 different reporters at a long desk with about 20 lapopts altogether. CNN is so hi-tech.
I guess even CNN fact-checks with wikipedia now… shiiiiit.

Link: Gromada Hub Repair / Disassembly
I recently obtained some Gromada hubs from a former Portland area messenger. He said he knew the Polish man who made them and that he purchased them from him in Dublin last year. They were laced up with DT Comps to Velocity Aero rims, a pretty nice setup. At the [...]

Some days I spend missing my youth. Other days, like today, I spend relishing my impending ages. The grass is always whatever. Bah,

By time Apple actually unlocks its iPhone and updates the technology to “current” technology, I’ll be able to move my whole music library in a few seconds…..AWESOME!
Only the true geeks know why 1.2Tbps is so rad. Or what Tbps even means. Or, for that matter, what the difference is between a byte and a [...]

Not sure how I missed this yesterday.
This is like paying a premium to watch minor league baseball. Or buying the first version iPhone. Who wants that shit? Give me a Bee Arthur or Donatella Versace anyday.

Atrocities happen all over the world, almost every day.
Just thought this photo was cool.
ps. On the topic of 9/11, I still think Jon Stewart provided the best commentary. Found here.

Only geeks like me love reading about survival scenarios in potential blackholes.
Then again, only geeks read my blog. Enjoy.
Also, anyone else think Spaghettification is rad?

I may be a super geek, but this is fucking radical.
Now I just need $20K in home theatre equipment to make it useful….and a desire to actually watch television.

For those of you who’ve played in Flash before, you know how cool CS4 is going to be.
Too bad simple motion tweens are for websites made in 1996.

Personally, I don’t really smoke pot. So it’s rare I would even mention it.
But apparently its the next penicillin.

Have I told you that I’m in love with Wordpress?
Because I am.

Tropical Storm Gustav has been named as McCain’s running mate!!!

Just kidding. However, the real choice was slightly more ridiculous. And a tad bit less experienced than this soon-to-be hurricane.
Welcome to Sarah Palin, you’re a token choice to manipulate the minds of small town, middle americans.
Check out Google News

For close to 48 hours.
But now I’m back.
And I feel like the hot dog below.
