The Summer of 2016 is a collection of poem, prose and drawings that I created between April 2016 and September 2016. This was a pivotal and difficult recent time of my life as my marriage was ending, and the person who had been my best friend for 8 years was no longer a part of my daily life. I recorded my feelings, thoughts and inspirations as I went from day to day, trying to piece together who I was on the other side of this change. This small book is both an insight into my mind and heart at the time, as well as a tool that I used to process the change itself.
